Intro to Adobe Premiere Pro

This intensive, hands-on workshop will give you the editing skills you need to turn your video footage, photos and audio into polished, professional videos. Using provided footage, you’ll learn the basics of video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro from start to finish — including project organization, importing, cutting interviews, assembling sequences, working with b-roll, mixing audio, incorporating text and exporting final projects.

- Who is this workshop for?
Anyone with little to no video editing experience who wants hands-on training in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Who is the instructor?
Anne Bailey is the founding director of the Montana Media Lab and a long-time multimedia journalist. She has taught video storytelling at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, the University of Montana School of Journalism, the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, the Freedom Forum Diversity Institute and others.

- What will I leave the workshop with?
A solid understanding of video editing workflow and basic editing techniques in Adobe Premiere Pro
- What equipment is provided? What do I need to bring?
We provide a desktop computer and editing software during the workshop. You’ll need to bring an external hard drive if you would like to save your work.

Adobe Premiere Pro
- Can I use my own laptop?
Yes, as long as you have the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro installed
- What about meals?
We will break for lunch from noon – 1pm. Missoula has lots of restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance of the Montana Media Lab.
- What is the maximum enrollment for this workshop?
- Can I take this workshop for university credit?
No. This workshop is not currently offered for university credit.
- I’m a teacher. Can I earn OPI renewal units for this workshop?
Yes. You will earn six renewal units for this workshop.
- What’s your refund policy?
The Montana Media Lab will issue a full refund, minus a $25 administrative fee, for cancellations made more than 45 days prior to the start of the workshop. Cancellations made within 45 days of the start of the workshop are not eligible for a refund. If the Montana Media Lab cancels the workshop for any reason, you will be issued a full refund.
