Empathy storytelling and media literacy at Seeley-Swan High School

In April, Seeley-Swan High School students read Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird. To put one of the book’s main themes — empathy for others — into practice, students worked with the Montana Media Lab to interview and photograph people they didn’t know in their community. Current and former UM School of Journalism students helped teach Seeley-Swan students the audio and photo storytelling skills they needed to complete their project. Now we’re working to get their amazing audio stories on air. Stay tuned!
