Youth Voices Program

The Montana Media Lab believes that teaching audio storytelling to youth in rural parts of the state and on Montana’s reservations helps empower them to find their voices. We help them create radio news stories that air across the state, so their local expertise can inform others. And along the way they come to understand how journalism works, and how to navigate the 24/7 news cycle they live in.
We’ve worked with high schools in Lodge Grass, Ronan, Box Elder and Missoula. Interested in starting a youth voices audio storytelling project in your school? Get in touch!
