We bring stories to life using sound.

The Intermountain West is full of untold stories. We think audio is the best way to tell them.

Do you have an incredible podcast idea? Need support with an existing project? Want to help teens in your community tell their stories? The Montana Media Lab is here to help.

Youth Voices Workshops

We travel to rural and Indigenous communities to teach teens how to tell their own stories using audio journalism. Along the way, students get a look inside the media landscape. Students say the workshops help them feel confident in their abilities to separate fact from fiction on the internet. They feel empowered by learning skills that let them report stories about their communities.

News Literacy

We believe teaching digital storytelling and news literacy to youth in rural parts of Montana and in Montana’s Native communities helps empower students to find their voices.

Work With Us

We partner with local and national organizations to make audio stories that matter. We’re always looking for new projects and new ways to connect, so get in touch!
